Cassar Performance & Design

Built on Craft, Driven by Performance

Cassar Performance & Design is a legacy automotive performance brand built on generations of hands-on craftsmanship, engineering, and a deep connection to American performance vehicles. The family’s roots in the automotive world go back more than a century, with long ties to high-end builds and the Detroit Autorama scene.

Today, CPD lives at the intersection of design, rendering, and engineering, helping bring premium performance parts and aftermarket components together into pro-touring, classic, and modern muscle cars. Their audience is builders, shops, and serious enthusiasts who care about the details, the fitment, and getting things right the first time.

In recent years, CPD has been building the next chapter of the business around ecommerce. The plan is to sell performance parts from trusted manufacturers today and grow into private-label and manufactured product lines over time.

They wanted an ecommerce platform that reflects how they work: thoughtful, precise, and built for performance.

The Business Problem

CPD needed high-end performance on a tightly-tuned budget.

Like most family businesses, they had to be smart about where they invested and make sure every dollar was doing real work. The goal wasn’t to overbuild. It was to launch a serious ecommerce platform that could represent the brand well, support dropship fulfillment from distributors, and grow over time as the business expanded.
They needed a site that could sell performance parts today and support much bigger plans down the road, including private-label and manufactured product lines. That meant choosing the right platform, building the right foundation, and avoiding anything that would slow the business down or create unnecessary complexity.

Our mission was clear: launch a credible, high-performance auto parts ecommerce store that could scale with the business and evolve over time.

Platform Strategy & Project Planning

Building an ecommerce site is a lot like building a great car.

From the start, the strategy was to build a strong, clean foundation and then expand from there. This approach followed a familiar pattern in the performance auto world: start with a solid, well-engineered core and build outward.

CPD wanted:

A dedicated shop site tied to their main brand presence
Navigation that mirrors how builders shop by brand and category

A strong SEO structure around performance, pro-touring, and American muscle parts

A platform that could support content, education, and technical resources alongside ecommerce

BigCommerce was a natural fit. It provided a reliable, scalable ecommerce platform without unnecessary complexity, and it allowed us to focus budget where it mattered most: structure, usability, and speed.

What We Built

A BigCommerce Store Built to Run Clean & Fast

We built a new BigCommerce store designed to serve as the foundation for CPD’s performance parts business.

From the first click, the store feels fast, clean, and focused. Navigation and category structure are designed around how people shop for aftermarket auto parts and performance components, especially by brand.

To get CPD selling quickly and efficiently, we imported distributor product data via CSV, configured the store for dropship fulfillment, and set up PayPal and Authorize.net for payments with standard tax configuration. This gave CPD a fully operational performance parts ecommerce business without overcomplicating the initial launch.

Behind the scenes, the site is structured for long-term growth. The category and product architecture is SEO-friendly, the platform is ready for content and education, and the foundation supports future private-label and manufactured products.

Performance Out of the Gate

Built for Speed, Ready for Growth

In performance parts ecommerce, speed is part of the experience.

Customers are usually comparing products, moving between brands, and digging into specs, fitment details, and documentation. A fast, responsive site makes that process easier. It keeps people engaged, makes the catalog easier to explore, and removes friction from the path to purchase.

From the beginning, the CPD store was built with this in mind. The site feels quick and responsive, and the shopping experience stays smooth as customers move through categories and product pages. That makes the store easier to use today and creates a strong foundation for conversion performance and search visibility as the business grows.

The result is a store that feels solid, dependable, and easy to shop, which is exactly what customers expect when they’re buying high-end performance and aftermarket auto parts.

The Result

A High-Performance Platform Built for What’s Next

Cassar Performance & Design now has a BigCommerce store that supports their plan to grow a serious performance auto parts business. The platform is designed to scale as the catalog expands, content is added, and new product lines are introduced over time.

From a technical and structural standpoint, the store is starting from a strong place:

Desktop Performance: Strong

The site delivers a fast, smooth experience for desktop shoppers, which is especially important for builders and enthusiasts who spend time researching, comparing products, and reviewing specs.

Mobile Performance: Strong

Mobile performance is solid and provides a strong baseline. As more content, imagery, and merchandising layers are added, this gives CPD clear opportunities for even further optimization and gains.

Platform & SEO Foundation: Strong

The site launched with clean structure, solid technical setup, and an SEO-friendly category and product architecture. This makes it much easier to grow traffic, content, and product depth without needing to rebuild the foundation later.

Taken together, this gives CPD a platform that’s ready to be built on. New brands, new product lines, new content, and new marketing initiatives can all be layered in without fighting the system underneath.

For a growing performance parts business, that’s exactly what you want: a store that can keep up as the business accelerates.
